Biocompatible Restorations

As a holistic dental practice, we understand that what you put in your mouth matters to your overall health. There are literally thousands of dental materials, each potentially toxic. Similar to having food sensitivities, materials may be compatible to an individual and create an immune challenge in another.

DENTAL MATERIALS COMPATIBILITY TESTING:

We recommend material compatibility testing with Biocomp Labs. The Biocomp Lab will test your blood serum with thousands of dental materials and group them into lists labeled highly reactive, moderately reactive and least reactive. Testing should be done about every 7 years as newer materials are continuously made available. You can order your test kit here.

ENERGETIC MATERIALS COMPATIBILTY TESTING:

Materials can be tested energetically for compatibility using a Lecher Instrument. The limitation of using a Lecher Instrument is the inability to test thousands of materials. Materials using a Lecher Instrument will be tested for each procedure as needed.

FILLING RESTORATIONS:

Composite or tooth colored fillings are typically used to restore teeth. Our composite materials are BPA-free. We recommend dental material testing to ensure biocompatibility.

CERAMIC METAL-FREE CROWN RESTORATIONS:

We use CAD/CAM technology to fabricate precision fitting single visit crowns. Conventional methods take 2 weeks and require 2 visits before you receive your crown; that is, if your temporary crown doesn’t accidently come off! You’ll add additional visits to the dentist office each time you lose a temporary crown if you choose the conventional route.

With CAD/CAM technology, there is no second visit, which means you don’t have to go through the numbing experience twice, and you don’t have to wait 2 weeks. At Ecologic Dentistry, we value your time and your desire to do other things than visit your dentist twice!

All ceramics are not equal. Many contain Aluminum and therefore tests highly reactive. We recommend dental material compatibility testing to select the right ceramic aluminum-free crown material for you.
